A quantum technology announcement can describe a research programme, a prototype or access to computing infrastructure. Those stages are related, but they are not interchangeable.
A research and infrastructure effort
The Commission describes quantum research and the integration of quantum computers with high-performance computing systems. Its broader policy account is available in the Commission quantum technology overview.
State what was demonstrated
Imagine a fictional research team testing one calculation on experimental equipment. A useful account would describe the task, comparison and conditions. It would avoid turning one demonstration into a claim that every everyday computing problem had been solved.
Readers benefit from a specific use case and an honest description of maturity. A promising research result and a service ready for routine use require different evidence.
