Brussels’ Hotel Amigo ranks among Northern Europe’s top 15

Date:

Hotel Amigo in Brussels has placed 15th in Northern Europe in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards, according to the organiser’s regional results. The Rocco Forte property scored 94.7 in the American edition’s survey. Its inclusion brings recognition to a hotel located beside the Belgian capital’s best-known historic square, the Grand-Place.

Hotel Amigo is the only Belgian property in that 15-hotel regional selection. The result was also reported by The Brussels Times, which highlighted the five-star establishment’s location near the Grand-Place and Manneken Pis.

An award with separate American and British results

The distinction between the two editions matters when comparing the results. Condé Nast Traveler in the United States and Condé Nast Traveller in the United Kingdom publish separate Readers’ Choice Awards lists, with different regional groupings.

In its 9 October announcement, The Leading Hotels of the World identifies Hotel Amigo as a recipient in the American awards. It separately lists Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp in the British edition. Recognition for one Belgian hotel therefore does not exclude recognition for another in a different survey or category.

The awards reflect readers’ reported travel experiences. They should be understood as a readership-based distinction, rather than a government classification or a finding that one hotel is the best option for every traveller. The regional category and the edition are part of the result, not interchangeable labels.

A hotel rooted in central Brussels

Hotel Amigo stands on Rue de l’Amigo, between the Grand-Place and Manneken Pis. Its operator, Rocco Forte Hotels, presents the property around its connection to Belgian art, design and the surrounding historic centre.

The hotel’s own website highlights art in its rooms and suites, Italian dining at Ristorante Bocconi and live music at Bar Magritte. Those descriptions explain the experience the operator promotes; they are not independent assessments of service or value.

The central setting gives the award story a distinctly Brussels context. The property’s identity is tied to nearby landmarks and the city’s cultural life, rather than to a secluded resort setting. Travellers considering a stay would still need to compare room types, prices and booking conditions for their own dates.

Hotel Amigo’s 15th-place finish belongs to a specific Northern European category in the American awards. Belgium’s representation in the separate British results shows why travellers comparing award-winning properties should check both the survey edition and the regional list behind each distinction.
